The video depicts a naked woman attempting to purify and re-virginize herself by pouring extra virgin olive oil onto her skin while draped in a white cloth. The work parodies extremist ideals surrounding women’s purity, virginity, and moral cleanliness, using religious symbolism and ritual gestures to expose their absurdity. Through humor and exaggeration, the piece critiques the violence of purity culture and the impossible standards imposed on women’s bodies, faith, and sexuality.
